On Friday, June 22nd, long time Arbor Trace residents Ray & Bill surprised their fellow residents with a demonstration of their radio-controlled sailboats in Arbor Lake. Typically the Lake is busy with birds looking for lunch and turtles enjoying a swim, however on this day, the residents were delighted to watch two beautiful sailboats glide smoothly across the water. Both captains managed their radio-controlled helms of their respective boats flawlessly. The mini regatta was organized with community staff who were on hand to assist when needed. Both Ray & Bill are seasoned “little sailboat” racers, having done so for many years. Ray sails with a group in Bonita Bay, and Bill in other ponds in Naples, as well as in New Hampshire. When asked about the event, Bill and Ray replied “We just wanted to give the residents something different to enjoy.”
