Here at Arbor Trace we consider ourselves a big family, so it was so exciting to see two of our “family members” participate in the Collier County Honor Flight. George has been a driver at Arbor Trace for many years. His big smile and outgoing personality has become a staple here in the community. Dr. Lou is a long time resident who has a larger than life sense of humor. His witty and sweet disposition brings great delight to all of his friends and neighbors in the community. On October 21st both Veteran’s boarded the Honor Flight headed to Washington, D.C. to visit the Arlington National Cemetery. While there, they also viewed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visited several other memorials. What an amazing experience! Upon their return to the Southwest Florida International Airport, they were greeted with a sea of people all there to honor our Veterans and shower them with appreciation for their service. The bag pipes played, flags were waved, and emotions ran high as each Veteran was cheered for as they deboarded the plane. You could just see the pure joy and gratitude in George and Lou’s face as they were met with hugs and love from both friends and family. Thank you Honor Flight of Collier County for giving veterans the opportunity to take part in such a wonderful experience. And a big thank you to every Veteran for your service & sacrifice!
