The annual Ice Cream Social was held in the Gathering Place on a sweltering Sunday afternoon August 18, 2019. Local residents provided the varied entertainment as attendees imbibed on their own concoctions of delicious Royal Scoop ice cream with nuts and yummy toppings. Lovely ladies, played ably by resident gentlemen Dick, Bruce, Earle and Dan, strutted their stuff as they paraded around the room in ladies’ attire. Tower Pointe residents, Julie and Suzanne were co-chairmen of the Entertainment Committee which planned the event, and Julie served as the Mistress of Ceremonies, announcing door prizes donated by local generous merchants Royal Scoop Ice Cream, Pincher’s Crab Shack and the Best of Everything. Arbor Trace servers helped serve drinks and dip ice cream.
A varied group of residents showcased their talents: Merle sang a solo, Dr. Doug amazed with his magician skills, Barb played a solo on the piano, Rob entertained minus his popular dog, Snoopy, and Marty played a beautiful trumpet solo and surprised us with his singing ability.
The highly enjoyable afternoon was concluded by residents singing “God Bless America,” conducted by Barbara, the Arbor Lake Chorus Director. Kudos to the entertainment Committee for planning this fun event!
