On Friday, August 23rd we took a full bus “around the corner” to the new Holocaust Museum, which officially opens after Labor Day. Docent Gil led us on a riveting tour of the new museum using lessons against bigotry, hatred, and violence as tools along the way. It was an emotional visit for us, for many different reasons. Everyone, through ancestors, travel or history felt connected as people to the horrors of the Holocaust; we all left inspired to pass these lessons on to others. As Anne Frank said, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” If you have the opportunity, it’s a worthwhile visit and an important new museum in Naples.
